At Nicasa, our DCFS family advocacy services offer step-by-step support to guide your family back to stability, working with your strengths to create a personalized plan that works for you.
Support for Families in Lake County, IL
Our Family Advocacy Services are available to families throughout Lake County who meet the following criteria:
- Parents or caregivers with at least one child aged 18 or younger (whether at home or in another form of custody).
- Participation in our parent education group is required.
What We Offer:
We provide a variety of services in English and Spanish, including:
- Confidential sessions tailored to your family’s needs.
- Personalized support plans designed to address your unique situation.
- Compassionate service, advocacy, and case management, including (but not limited to):
- Practical and emotional support during court, medical, and other visits.
- Follow-up communication with families.
- Health insurance assistance (Medicaid application).
- Internal referrals to Nicasa’s services such as mental health, substance use, and more, as needed.
- External referrals to services like healthcare, domestic violence counseling, and food assistance.
