Prevention at Nicasa – Fall 2017

With after school programs, presentations, health fairs, monthly Teen Court sessions, juror training, and grant compliance, Prevention has been very busy!

Nicasa’s prevention department has been busy!

  • After school programs ran for 4 weeks in the summer, including field trips, enrichment activities, and a celebratory field day.
  • The Service Learning component of the Round Lake High School After School program continued with the Avon Township Food Pantry, and they piloted the program with an 8th grader. The program will be fully expanded to include middle school students.
  • Our prevention department provided a presentation to Kewaunee District staff on National Awareness Day lesson plans.
  • All lesson plans have been reviewed and enhanced for this school year.  They have been recognized for excellence by our State mentor.
  • Teen Court trained 64 new volunteer teen jurors for courts throughout the country in an all day training at Warren Township High School.
  • Prevention has been representing Nicasa and creating awareness of it’s full range of services at a number of health fairs, expos, and local businesses.
