CARF Accreditation

A rigorous evaluation has found Nicasa programs to be deserving of the CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) International seal of approval.

In November, Nicasa’s substance abuse, mental health, and prevention services underwent a survey by professionals from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).  CARF International recommended a 3-year accreditation for each of the programs – the highest level of recommendation.  Based on 1,400 standards of programmatic and operational excellence, CARF certification indicates that Nicasa’s programs are person-centered, outcome-driven, and effective.

Elizabeth Thielen, one of Nicasa’s Senior Directors, led Nicasa’s accreditation efforts.  Thielen and her team reviewed hundreds of patient files, policies, procedures, and reports in preparation for the CARF survey team to ensure that they reflected Nicasa’s resolve to provide the highest level of care.

“We are so grateful for the clients we work with, and that they have chosen Nicasa as their service provider. CARF accreditation demonstrates that we are committed to our clients and the goals they have set for themselves,” said Thielen.

CARF accreditation also enables Nicasa to become an in-network provider for private insurance carriers such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, or UnitedHealthcare.
