Volunteer

Nicasa’s success in helping build brighter futures for men, women, children, and families in need would not be possible without the generous support of our volunteers.

Nicasa Behavioral Health Services utilizes more than 100 volunteers each year. Nicasa’s volunteers mentor clients; provide workshops and activities; serve on the Board of Directors, Friends of Nicasa, or Program Advisory Boards; promote Nicasa in the community; staff and plan our events; and help with projects at our facilities.

Current volunteer opportunities include:

The governing Board of Nicasa. Board meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every other month at 5:00pm. Board committees include: Finance, Program, Resource Development, Governance, and Government Relations.
A committee of volunteers that plans and organizes the Annual Charity Golf Outing. This committee meets monthly at 8:00am, with meetings increasing in frequency as the event approaches. Golf lovers welcome!
Volunteers are needed to help plan and organize the Great Lakes Marathon and Race Series that is scheduled for April 2018. This committee meets monthly at the College of Lake County in Grayslake. You do not have to be a runner to volunteer!
Volunteers to care for the children of our clients on-site while the parents are in treatment or group counseling. Background checks will be required.
A volunteer is needed to help Nicasa electronically archive past years of news articles at the Round Lake Headquarters.
A volunteer is needed to help Nicasa manage personnel records for interns at the Round Lake Headquarters.  This position will be approximately 8 hours per week on an ongoing basis.
Nicasa has various facilities maintenance needs at locations across Lake County. References or licensure may be required for certain projects.
Nicasa has design projects throughout the year including marketing materials, event communications, web graphics, signs, event logos, etc.
Nicasa has ongoing needs for IT support and consultation regarding networking, security, workstation/server maintenance, and documentation.
Nicasa has opportunities for individuals or groups to provide workshops and presentations to adult or youth treatment groups or our after school program students. These workshops and presentations can include, but are not limited to: financial planning, life skills, arts and crafts, career exploration/preparation, and hobbies.
Nicasa has opportunities for interns in a variety of program areas including substance abuse and mental health, prevention, marketing/communications, and administration.
Nicasa has opportunities for High School students to volunteer as Teen Court Jurors.
